If you have never danced, haven’t danced in 50 years, or dance every day, there is a place for you in my class. We will blend dance, healing and martial arts. Kicking, stepping and sliding into an improved physical and mental state. You will also increase flexibility, balance and stamina.
Working as a mental health therapist I have observed that people thrive when they have creative outlets and ways to connect to their bodies in a world that encourages disconnection. My classes offer an opportunity for both, with evocative music and conscious movement. “Staying in shape” will be an added benefit of the grounding, cathartic experience you will have.
My life changed when I stepped into my first NIA class in 2009. Anxiety, depression and disconnection decreased. Pleasure, energy, connection increased. I began sharing the joy of NIA in 2010 and have had the honor and privilege to teach at fitness centers, mental health facilities, yoga and dance studios, houses, hallways and backyards. Any space is the right space for NIA!
In addition to being a blue belt NIA instructor I am also an Ageless Grace Educator. Movement practices have the ability to heal ailments of various shades and depths, so join me on the dance floor and feel better in your body and better in your life.
