My yoga journey began in my 20’s. I was focused on physical fitness and strength training. Yoga started as a counter-balance to my extreme workout regime. As I’ve grown older, I’ve learned that Yoga is much more than exercise.
Yoga is life. Yoga is an every day practice and discipline. My self practice includes asanas, mediation, pranayama, compassion, truthfulness, living consciously and contently. My goal is to share the lived experience of yoga and pass on my teachings. I am trained in Traditional Yoga Asana, Anatomy, Ayurveda, Meditation, Pranayama, and Yoga Philosophy. I completed my training with Yogashiromani Acharya Lalit Kumar and Himalaya Yoga Valley.
My husband and I moved to Marshall, NC leaving behind Los Angeles and our corporate careers. We spent nearly two years traveling around the world to find our home. Inspired by our travels, we are creating an organic farm and education center. Our goal is to reconnect with the natural world, gain a deeper sense of self and community. I am grateful to practice and teach in these beautiful surroundings.
“Teaching yoga is about sharing - sharing on a physical level by helping people to work on their body - sharing on a mental-emotional level by helping people to confront their unruly mind and gain a deeper understanding of how it functions - and sharing on a sublime level, as we glimpse beyond the veil of our conditioned everyday perception.” - Swami Nichchalananda Saraswati
