Kundalini Yoga for beginners

Kundalini yoga is the yoga of awareness because the most important thing is your own experience. It combines asana, mantra, mudra, breathwork, and meditation. Practices, called kriyas, have been passed down from teacher to teacher and are a complete science to work on aspects of the physical, energetic, and emotional bodies. The word Kundalini translates to “coiled” or “circular” and is believed to be an energy that often lies dormant at the base of the spine which we work to “uncoil”, moving energy up the spine and through the chakras. 

This class, while beneficial to those with all levels of experience, aims to lay a foundation of useful tools. Such as breathwork and an understanding of how to ground and integrate your experiences. 

A typical class looks like: tuning in with the mantra, Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo (I bow to the subtle wisdom, I bow to the teacher within), a gentle warm-up, a kriya, relaxation, and meditation.
